Michael Howden

About

I’m Michael Howden. I live in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand.

My work has taken me from building open-source disaster management systems with the Red Cross, UNDP and emergency managers in Los Angeles, Aceh, Timor-Leste, Pakistan and Uganda, to data and digital work across New Zealand government, water and research. I completed a master’s at Victoria University of Wellington on how systems thinking can improve regulation.

Outside work I’ve been a director of the Sahana Software Foundation and a trustee of the 2020 Communications Trust. I run (marathons, occasionally) and speak a little Indonesian.

TODO: current role, a photo, and how to get in touch.
